Awarded senior photographer, creative producer, multi disciplinary artist & entrepreneur experienced in high end retouching, music, videography, direction, event management & prop styling.

Stephany studied solo singing at the private music school Ino Mirković (CRO) and photographic imaging at the Art Institute of Atlanta (USA) where she graduated in 2013 gaining an Associate in Arts / Magna cum laude. She also specialised food photography at the Italian Food Academy Milano (ITA) in 2021.

Upon returning to her home country in 2014, she joined the Creative Cluster Combinat where she worked on various projects in the fields of culture, art & education while collaborating with the members of the cluster.

In 2015, Stephany joined the circus group Red Rays where she wrote, produced and directed plays for children and adults, mentored at circus festivals for children, managed the circus group which consisted of ten artists, contracted and performed at clubs and festivals as a fire performer.

A year later, she gathered visual artists and musicians into a multidisciplinary project named after herself. The project blossomed into an EP that same year called CLOUDS and an album in 2018 called IRIDESCENT, both released independently. The album was well received by the critics calling it “The well needed breath of fresh air for Croatia’s music scene”. The music was performed accompanied by visuals at various festivals and events such as: Inmusic Festival, Velvet Festival, Art Experience Festival, etc.

After freelancing as a photographer and videographer for eight years, Stephany started her own business in 2018 becoming CEO and owner of Stephany Stefan Studio – Rijeka’s first equipped photography studio available for rental. Over the years, she has been contracted as photographer, videographer and creative producer by numerous small and medium businesses, associations and artists.

In 2019, Stefan became one of the leading photographers for Rijeka’s Department of Culture on the project European Capital of Culture 2020. She was also selected as one of the women actively envisioning art and culture, representing her city during the project’s duration.

In collaboration with multimedia artist Oblik3, she envisioned, produced and managed the interdisciplinary event SUTON, held for the first time in 2019 in Rijeka (CRO). For the event SUTON3 held in 2021, Stephany and Oblik3 collaborated with visual artists and musicians in the creation of SADA / NOW – an intimate multi-sensory ambient whose main purpose is to create a safe space for the participants while giving them a chance to question their own sense of gratefulness.

Stephany became the main retoucher and team coordinator for the brand Riva Fashion Kuwait in 2020. She’s gathered a retouching team in Croatia and has been working for the company remotely.

In 2021, one of Croatia’s biggest food chain stores Plodine d.d. hired Stefan as head of their photo department. She modernised the department by putting together a photography studio space for the company, creating a workflow and implementing an archival system while gaining experience in food styling and prop styling.

As an educator, Stephany’s been holding photography and Photoshop workshops at the University of Rijeka, the Academy of Applied Arts Rijeka, the Photo Club Rijeka and the Centre for Creative Writing Rijeka. She’s been included in the EU project RiGenerAkcija! led by the association RiRock where she’s been teaching photography to the elderly.

Currently, Stephany is deep in the process of writing her first book, researching the subject matter of her first documentary and producing her second album.
